The Master of Fine Arts in Music Composition at Vermont College of Fine Arts is the first program of its kind, offering a chance for you to forge your own creative path, refine your composition skills, and grow more vital as an artist, composer, and musician.

Students come from diverse stylistic backgrounds and have varied compositional interests. This musically inclusive MFA program reflects that diversity, offering opportunities to work in multiple focus areas, such as: film, TV & game scoring, concert music, electronic music, songwriting, and jazz. Our highly accomplished faculty work in many genres, and students can specialize in one area or several, exploring and blending musical streams.
